An employee with the Kansas City, Mo., city manager's office was arrested, accused of a crime involving a child.

Police confirmed that the man works at City Hall in a supervisory position and was accused of a sex crime against a 4-year-old girl.

Police said they arrested and questioned the man Monday, then released him pending further investigation.

The mayor's office had no comment, saying they were unaware of the arrest and adding that the employee in question was under the city manager's, not the mayor's, supervision. The city manager was out of town and unavailable for comment.
