Police had East Linwood Boulevard between Main Street and Gillham Road closed as they tried to piece together a crime that happened at the Linwood Super Foods store early Thursday morning.

Employees said three robbers stormed the store with guns pointed at them and at customers shortly after midnight.

The store's manager was watching the surveillance camera feed from her home and suspected these were the same bandits who hit the store twice in recent weeks. She called 911.

Officers confronted the robbers as they were trying to drive away. Police said the robbers fired at them, so they returned fire.

The robbers drove away, but crashed nearby and were caught.

"They got them this time. We're happy everybody will be safe now, our customers and us," said store owner Minny Sanghe.

Two of the three robbery suspects were taken to the hospital.

The driver they allegedly hit as they sped away from the scene is in critical condition.

The two officers involved in the shooting were not hurt.
