KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Animal health workers have found homes for two dogs discovered with their legs amputated.
The dogs, named Misty and Rusty, will go to their new homes this week.
Both dogs will be living in homes with other dogs with three legs, which animal health workers expect will help them adapt, according to a city news release.
The dogs were found in northeast Kansas City in August.
Someone or some people had cut off one of their hind legs.
Officials urged anyone with any knowledge about the crimes to report that information to the Animal Health and Public Safety Division at (816) 513-9800.
