A 12-day-old puppy named Tough Guy lived up to his name after being rescued from a drainage pipe.

Employees of a pet grooming and boarding business in Winfield heard a puppy crying early Tuesday morning.

After taking inventory of all their animals, they noticed one was missing.

They followed the cries and found Tough Guy lodged deep in a sewer pipe behind the building.

Firefighters and friends came to help rescue the puppy.

Rescue crews estimated the pooch traveled about 50 feet into the drainage pipe before being rescued.
