KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- All lanes of Interstate 470 eastbound were reopened near Raytown Road in the 6 o'clock hour Tuesday after an overnight wreck.

Investigators spent hours piecing together details of the wreck.

Around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, an SUV slammed into the back of a minivan. The impact sent the SUV spinning across the roadway. The driver couldn't keep it in control and the vehicle ended up going off the road.

A male passenger in the SUV was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

No one else was hurt.

All but one lane of I-470 eastbound was blocked while crews cleared the scene.
