KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The man accused of killing women and dumping their bodies along the Prospect Corridor appearred in court Friday.Terry Blair wore a white shirt and tie as he sat by his two defense lawyers Friday. He was charged with murdering eight women and raping three others. His attorneys have filed about 30 motions, asking the judge to suppress evidence and information from being allowed in his upcoming trial. One of the issues being discussed is how the detectives searched Blair's vehicle for evidence.
The officers found the car parked at his son's house and they said the son gave them permission to search the car.Defense attorneys argue that they should have asked Terry Blair for permission or obtained a warrant, so that evidence shouldn't be allowed. The defense also filed motions asking that the death penalty not be allowed in this case, saying it is unconstitutional.Blair's trial has been set for Oct. 1.
