NEW CENTURY, Kan. -- Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection with a copper robbery at Embarq North Supply on Sumner Way at the New Century Air Center.A security guard called police around 1 a.m. to report a vehicle entering the property.Officers said they found a section of the security fence cut and several lengths of wire removed from spools and cut into smaller lengths, presumably for easier transport.Jerome Rowden and David Amos, both of Kansas City, Mo., were caught after a short foot chase, police said. Both men were arrested on multiple charges, including criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.Police are investigating whether the copper theft is related to the robbery of $13,700 worth of telephone wire from the same location last week. Both suspects were taken to the New Century Adult Detention Center, where they are being held on $10,000 bond.
