UPDATED: 4:35 pm CDT August 22, 2007

Another dog with a severed left hind leg has been found in Kansas City.

A police officer found the male Rottweiler Tuesday in the northeast area around the Kansas City Museum, in the same area where Misty -- a 6-month-old female -- was found with her left hind leg amputated on Aug. 14.

The Rottweiler, later named Rocky, was taken to the Raytown Animal Clinic for treatment.

The injuries were too coincidental not to be linked, Animal Health and Public Safety Division manager Lesly Forsberg said in a news release.

Forsberg urged anyone with any information to contact authorities.

Spay and Neuter Kansas City -- with the help of the Humane Society of the United States -- has increased the reward to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible.
