Dozens of people camped out overnight so they'd be in line for the grand opening of the first Apple store in the state of Kansas.

They wanted Apple Leawood T-shirts and to purchase Apple's new iPhones.

The line wrapped around the building at West 119th Street and Roe Avenue. Some people had been there since Wednesday.

Jonathan Douglas was among the shoppers.

"It's pretty exciting whatever Mac comes out with," Douglas said. "We bought the first generation, and we were very happy with that, and they take care of their customers and we decided to give it a shot on the second one."

The new iPhones start at $199.

Douglas said, "The price of the $199 for the 8GB, it's pretty appealing and we're pretty secure with the product."
