Casinos Close Sunday For Hurricane Gustav

The Mississippi Gaming Commission ordered 12 casinos on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to close Sunday because of the impending threat of Hurricane Gustav, according to WAPT-TV

Casino customers were escorted off the property and casino employees, working with Mississippi Gaming Commission agents and auditors, began preparations to close their doors, gaming officials said.

Working closely with the Department of Civil Defense, the Mississippi Gaming Commission made the decision to issue closure orders to ensure the safety of all patrons and casino employees, casino officials said.
