Atlanta: Salute 2 America Parade

The 44th annual parade will begin at 1 p.m. on July 4. Starting on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta, the parade marches 1.1 mile south to Marietta Street and concludes at Centennial Olympic Park.

Baltimore: July 4th Sailabration

A majestic fleet of international tall ships gathers around Baltimore's waterfront and celebrates the 150th anniversary of the launch of the USS Constellation. The event, which runs from June 30 to July 4, includes several concerts, street performers and ship tours, and will conclude with a fireworks finale at 9:30 p.m. on July 4.

Bristol, R.I.: Annual Fourth of July Celebration

The oldest continuous Fourth of July celebration in America was established in 1785. About 200,000 people show up to watch the Drum and Bugle Corps Competition.

Boston's Fourth Of July

About 500,000 people are expected to gather on July 4 near the Charles River to watch the 30th Boston Pops Fourth of July concert at 8:35 p.m., followed by Boston's 23-minute fireworks extravaganza at 10:35 p.m., which will be choreographed with the help of computers and synchronized to music.

Columbus, Ohio: Red, White & Boom!

More than 500,000 people are expected to participate in Red, White & Boom! on July 2 in downtown Columbus. The daylong event includes unique, family-oriented entertainment at Children's Park, Taste of Boom!, Bicentennial Park and Brewery Boom!

Des Moines, Iowa: Yankee Doodle Pops

The 10th Anniversary of the Des Moines Symphony's Yankee Doodle Pops will be held Friday, July 2, at the Iowa State Capitol. The free entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. with a Metro Arts Jazz In July concert, followed by Yankee Doodle Pops and fireworks.

Madison, Wis: Rhythm & Booms

What's called the Midwest's largest fireworks display, timed to music, is held at Warner Park in Madison on Saturday, July 3. A family festival will be held throughout the day, including a children's bicycle parade, an oldies stage, carnival rides, and a parachute jump.

New York City: Macy's Fireworks Spectacular

In what's called the world's largest fireworks display, Macy's will kick off its fireworks at about 9 p.m. on July 4. Four barges stationed between 23rd and 42nd streets in the East River will set off 20,000 aerial shells and special effects. The New York Fire Department gets in on the act with fire boats shooting red, clear, and blue water 300 feet over the river.

Orlando: Theme Parks

BUSCH GARDENS: Celebrate on July 3 and July 4 with a special concert, picnic buffet and fireworks extravaganza both nights. Concerts start at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m. Park hours are extended until 10:30 p.m. because of the special events, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets to enjoy the concerts.

SEA WORLD: Fireworks are scheduled for 9:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. at the Atlantis Bayside Stadium.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO: Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and CityWalk will combine efforts for a fireworks display beginning at 10 p.m.

WALT DISNEY WORLD: At Disney-MGM Studios, come see the "Stars and Motor Cars" parade at 5:30 p.m and fireworks at 9 p.m. A special edition of Fantasmic starts at 10:30 p.m. At Epcot, the Illuminations fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. Come see the "Share A Dream Come True" parade at Magic Kingdom at 3 p.m. The "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks spectacular will begin at 9 p.m., and the SpectroMagic Parade will be performed at 10:30 p.m. and midnight.

Philadelphia: 2004 Sunoco Welcome America! Festival

The city's annual Independence Day celebration features a variety of free events from June 27 to July 4. It includes a children's educational initiative, the presentation of the Liberty Medal, as well as a parade, concert and fireworks.

Pittsburgh: Three Rivers Regatta

The Regatta, a community celebration established in 1977, is held in Downtown Pittsburgh at Point State Park from July 2 to July 5. Fireworks will take place at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. In addition to the fishing tournament and boat races, the event includes a children's village, a dog show, balloon rides and a climbing wall, as well as several musical acts.

San Francisco: Fourth of July Waterfront Festival

The celebration on Fisherman's Wharf's Pier 39, features a lineup of local bands, with fireworks beginning around 9:30 p.m.

Seattle: 4th of Jul-Ivar's

The 40th annual celebration, hosted by Ivar's restaurants, runs Sunday, July 4 from noon to 11 p.m. at Myrtle Edwards Park on Seattle's Waterfront. It includes an all-day festival with music, kids activities, and food, with fireworks beginning around 10 p.m.

Washington, D.C.: America's 2004 Independence Day Parade

The annual parade will begin July 4 at 11:45 a.m. at Constitution Avenue and Seventh Street before a street audience of more than 300,000 spectators. The National Symphony Orchestra will perform its annual holiday concert on the West Lawn of the Capitol at 8 p.m. on July 4. The fireworks display over the Washington Monument will begin at 9:10 p.m. The Smithsonian's annual Folklife Festival on the National Mall will take place June 23 to June 27 and June 30 to July 4. This year, Latino music, Haitian culture and the culture of the Mid-Atlantic coastal communities will be featured. The concert, fireworks and Folklife Festival all have free admission.
