Dozens of women got together in Prairie Village on Sunday to drink tea, chat and raise money for breast cancer victims in the metro area.

KCTV5's Carolyn Long emceed the sixth annual "High Tea" held at Brighton Gardens near West 71st Street and Mission Road.

More than 70 women gathered to help raise thousands of dollars for a local organization called Cancer Action.

Cancer Action has an annual budget of $1 million, and it uses that money to help local cancer victims pay bills and get the support they need to battle their illness, said executive director Karla Nichols.

"Every dime raised here will stay right here in our local community to touch our mothers, daughters and sisters who are facing the challenge of breast cancer," Nichols said.

If you would like to donate money to the organization to help local cancer victims, visit canceraction.org.
