KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A local elementary school is taking precautions after a school employee was diagnosed with a potentially contagious infection.Crews spent the night deep-cleaning Turner Elementary School after an employee was diagnosed with the antibiotic-resistant staph infection, methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).School parents got a letter on Thursday saying that a cleaning crew trained by the county health department would sanitize the school and eradicate any traces of infection.The letter also said the employee is receiving treatment and is not at work.
The principal said the employee was not someone who had direct contact with the students.
