Kansas City Ballet Presents The Nutcracker

This enchanting production's vibrant costumes, stunning sets, choreography by Artistic Director Emeritus Todd Bolender, and Peter Tchaikovsky’s memorable score, tell the unforgettable story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they journey to the Kingdom of the Sweets. An estimated 200 area children, who are students in the Kansas City Ballet School, also appear in the production along with the 25 professional dancers of Kansas City Ballet.

Drawn from all of the corners of the world, the museum is proud to present a collection of the richest and most colorful displays of ethnic traditions and customs for the Christmas holiday season from Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, African-American, Belgium, and Greece. This year we are focusing on the Native Americans at the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The concert is a festive family event featuring Native American and Crossroads participants. Connect with the Christmas spirit across cultures, with familiar Christmas carols, and Native American traditions. An offering will be taken for the people on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
