UMKC Receives $8 Million Grant

Money Will Go To Expand Urban Teacher Program

The University of Missouri-Kansas City received an $8 million grant on Friday.

The five-year grant will help the school expand its urban teacher program. The money for the grant comes from the U.S. Department of Education.

UMKC's urban teacher program helps prepare students for teaching in inner city environments. The grant money will be used to strengthen curriculum and provide more educational and professional development opportunities for students.
