Green High School Opens In Northland

NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Green was the word at a new North Kansas City high school Monday.School and city officials cut the ribbon to open the doors at Staley High School Monday morning.The school has an environmentally friendly design.Rainwater will be used to irrigate the campus landscaping.
The contractors used recycled materials to build the facility. There are hundreds of sensors to regulate temperatures inside, and even the way the building is cleaned will not be harmful to the environment.The school cheerleaders and band helped welcome students back.The new high school is the fourth for North Kansas City and will help reduce student crowding.
