KCTV5 brought its Cool Schools crew to Grandview High School and got its share of cool. Students showed up decked out in the Grandview powder blue colors and showed an impressive array of talents and groups. Grandview students showed off their current musical production, their culinary program, robotics team, dancing bulldog mascot and much more. More

Is your high school a Cool School? The KCTV5 More In The Morning Team will be live at one high school every Friday during the 2009-10 school year. We are looking for high schools that have a number of different "cool" non-athletic achievements. It's not just one thing that makes a school "cool," it's many. The Grandview jazz band plays an children's favorite with a jazzy flair.

The girls at Notre Dame de Sion in Kansas City, Mo., were up early and enthusiastically Friday as the most recent KCTV5 Cool School. Students at Sion showed off everything from their dance moves, to their top-notch academic work to the history of the school. Students also helped with a care package drive for Haiti earthquake relief. More


St. Teresa's Academy took their turn in the spotlight Friday as the first KCTV5 Cool School of 2010 and the first all-girl's school to be featured as a Cool School. The Stars showed off their journalism class, spirit club, dance team, choir, medical missions and community service work. The school is one of the oldest in Kansas City and features a number of top-notch students. More


The students at F.L. Schlage deluged KCTV5 with requests to be a Cool School and finally got their day as a Cool School Friday. Students at the school showed off the journalism department, Asian club, student government, marching band and other clubs showed off their accomplishment and why their school was deserving to be called a Cool School. More


Santa made a visit to F.L. Schlagle as part of their appearance as a Cool School.

The Barstow School took its turn as a KCTV5 Cool School and showed off some of the unique and special things that set the private school apart. Students from a variety of programs at the school showed off their talents including the robotics club, debate team, leadership group and one student event shared his recent news that he was accepted into Duke University with help from some of the school's college counselors. More


The St. Mary's Spanish club said it regularly celebrates key Hispanic holidays throughout the year.

The Liberty High School band helped kick things off for the schools appearance as a KCTV5 Cool School.
