KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Upset dog owners in Kansas City, Kan., confronted the city on Monday about a dog ordinance they think is unfair. They said the current ordinance focuses too much on the breed of the dog and not on the behavior. The pet owners said dogs are being confiscated because they look like pit bulls. One woman said she had DNA tests to prove her dog was not a pit bull, and she still couldn't have the dog living in the city.
City Council members said they plan to take the dog owners' concerns into consideration, and will look at other city ordinances before making a final decision on whether to make changes.
