Polar Bear Plunge

Join KCTV5 meteorologist Gary Amble on Feb. 2 for the 3rd Annual Polar Bear Plunge and 5K Strut, a fundraiser for the Kansas Special Olympics.

Schedule Of Events:

8:30 a.m. 5K Strut Registration
10 a.m. 5K Shot-Gun Start
10:30 a.m. Plunge Registration
12 p.m. Polar Bear Plunge
12:30 Awards Ceremony

Check-In at the Marina

The course for the 5K Strut begins near the beach house by Shawnee Mission Park Lake and ends just in time to witness the Plunge or even jump yourself.

Safety Precautions:

• This is a weather permitting event. All activities are performed at your own risk.
• Plungers MUST wear shoes or water shoes.
• Bring towels, blankets and warm clothing.
• Plungers must wear a costume or bathing suit.
• Do not bring valuables. Storage is not provided.
• Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver of liability.

Join us BEFORE the Plunge to celebrate! Turn in your money, sign your waiver and for only $10 a person enjoy an all-you-can-eat pizza and wings buffet! ($5 for kids under 12)
