KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man was killed while walking along the street last year, and police are still searching for his killer. The homicide investigation has gone cold, investigators said, and they need someone to step up and help put a killer away.On March 20, 2007, Kevin Sherrils, 25, was walking near East 74th and Harrison streets when a car pulled up next to him, police said. The driver and Sherrils argued and Sherrils was shot. He died a short time later. The only motive investigators can come up with was that this was an attempted robbery, although they can't say for sure.
The car the shooter was driving had been stolen in a residential robbery and was found near East 44th Street and Brooklyn Avenue the next morning. Police said whoever stole it had unsuccessfully attempted to burn it.If you know anything about Kevin Sherrils' shooting, call the Kansas City police or use the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
