POSTED: 9:24 am CST January 19, 2010

The American Heart Association is holding it's annual KC Heart Ball and Pulse Party Feb. 20 from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The Heart Ball celebrates the American Heart Association's lifesaving work for Kansas City families and the mission to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Pulse is a Heart Ball After party.

Join the American Heart Association for drinks, dancing, and little bites to join in the fight to eliminate death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke at the Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Boulevard in Overland Park, Kan.

Pulse is a group of local young professionals working to build a strong beat of commitment to heart health in the next generation of community leaders. Pulse is all about prevention. It's about staying strong, being steady, growing powerful in the fight to eliminate deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The people of Pulse know that the best results, the biggest breakthroughs, and the most fun come from working together.

The Heart Ball is a black-tie gala event and is sponsored by Saint Luke's Health System.

Media sponsors include Star 102, KCTV5, The Pitch, KC Magazine and KC Business.

The funds generated at the Heart Ball will support American Heart Association-funded cardiovascular disease research to improve the lives of women, children and families in the Kansas City community.

Last year, the American Heart Association Heart Ball campaign raised just over $51 million nation-wide funded over $123 million of research and programs across the country and in the Kansas City area.

Tickets are $350 per person and can be purchased here.
